Another day, another concert – this time it was Matt Hansen taking over Volkshaus in Zurich. After selling out Papiersaal in record time back in February, it was a welcome surprise to see him return to the city so soon. This show felt extra special for me. It was my birthday and I got to spend it surrounded by live music and great friends. Honestly, no better way to celebrate!

Unlike his February show, Matt didn’t bring a support act this time and just stepped on stage shortly after 8 PM. With just two band members backing him, the stage initially seemed a bit too big – but he quickly proved otherwise, working it like a total pro. Just like last time, he managed to charm the crowd effortlessly. His warm and genuine interactions with fans gave the night a personal touch that made everyone feel seen and appreciated.

New Songs, Birthday Shoutouts & No Encore

We got to relive some of the magic from earlier this year. We all enjoyed fan favorites like Versions of Forever, Chemicals, and Someone to You. But Matt also surprised us with a few unreleased tracks, giving the show a fresh twist. His newly released song Yellowstone was definitely a highlight – a real crowd-pleaser and such a great tune.

The only unexpected part? No encore, and not even a cheeky “this is the last song” moment. Still, it didn’t take away from what was a fantastic evening. Getting a birthday shoutout from Matt himself made it all the more sweet. Thanks, Matt!
